Description: ‘Avyanna Reaches’ is a community service initiative by Rotary Club of Calcutta Avyanna to spread happiness and hope to the underprivileged section of the society. We commenced the Rotary Year 2017-18 by executing the first project of ‘Avyanna Reaches’.
A collection drive was initiated amongst the members to collect both used and new clothes, utensils, bed sheets, toys, stationeries, tiffin boxes, water bottles, school bags, books and other lifestyle and educational items. Some members also donated biscuit packets.
During the collection, it was ensured that the used items were in a proper and usable condition and not torn or broken.
Then these items were duly sorted and donated to ‘Star Welfare Society’, an NGO that works for underprivileged children.
Upon reaching the venue, the members were given a very warm welcome. They were greeted with garlands and entertained with dance and music by the children present. The children were quite ecstatic upon receiving a big lot of usable items.
Project execution was done by a 5 member team led by the President Rtn Srabanee Chakraborty. Donation of objects was done by 22 club members and 12 non members.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
